  1. Ok Sweet, this is still accurate , no matter what time zone.

  2. Then, if this works, we can paste this bit back into the museum age times page, and drop this one.

-side note: looking at the links bar on the right, I notice that there is a “categories” heading, with Masoren’s and debshee’s journal links…. so where are Isyldar and Nadnerb?

    Comment by Nadnerb — May 29, 2007 @ 10:22 am Cavern Time

  3. Heh. I had originally taken ours out of the categories section…I suppose I could put them back in…or remove the categories section altogether. However, I think I’ll leave it until the site redesign.

    Comment by Isyldar — May 30, 2007 @ 5:29 pm Cavern Time

  4. believe it or not, i didn’t realize that the first line under the age headers was an automatic, continuous, countdown clock until the next portal. heh.

    Comment by Isyldar — June 17, 2007 @ 10:18 am Cavern Time

  5. Changed to make that more obvious. :D

    Comment by Nadnerb — June 17, 2007 @ 1:53 pm Cavern Time

  6. Negilahn was to the second. Nice work! :D

    Comment by Isyldar — July 27, 2007 @ 1:45 pm Cavern Time

  7. Dereno portal showed up when count-down was at 15:42

    Comment by Isyldar — July 30, 2007 @ 9:34 pm Cavern Time

  8. All of the portals have been a little bit behind today. 1 or 2 minutes. Waiting for tetsonot now, so I’ll see if that one’s out.

    Comment by Masoren — September 3, 2007 @ 5:45 pm Cavern Time

  9. Tetsonot’s portal showed up almost 4 minutes before I was expecting it…

    Comment by Masoren — September 3, 2007 @ 5:58 pm Cavern Time

  10. This had drifted almost an hour off time… I’ve recalibrated all the times. They should be within 20 seconds for at least a few weeks. Right now it’s accurate to the second. :) I have, as of now, attended four consecutive Payiferen portal openings.. I wonder if that’s some sort of record.

The last time these were updated was in May. :P

  11. I love your Portal Times section! It’s very easy to read and use, and it clearly spells out my timezone.

I hope to see you in-Cavern!

    Comment by Susa'n — February 18, 2010 @ 5:09 pm Cavern Time

  12. And after 2 years it is still accurate to within about 15 seconds.

    Good job!

    Comment by Trylon — February 25, 2010 @ 9:44 am Cavern Time

  13. Thanks for this great service!
FYI, portal times I recorded today:
    Negilahn 2010-03-09 01:18:16 -0700
    Dereno 2010-03-09 02:32:58 -0700
    Payiferen 2010-03-09 03:07:42 -0700
    Tetsonot 2010-03-09 05:53:17 -0700

  14. The portal times are not accurate for the Pacific Daylight Savings Timezone (PDT). The times are an hour early, i.e., the times pertain to the Pacific Standard Timezone (PDT).

    Comment by Susa'n — April 10, 2010 @ 5:24 am Cavern Time

  15. Time ahead by about one hour on all times, EST. Adjust for daylight savings time?

    Comment by Jorm — April 11, 2010 @ 10:40 am Cavern Time

  16. Well, just checked Dereno, EST, hopped in, waited a half hour before projected time, waited ten minutes past… nothing. No easy way to say this, but I think your timer’s broken at the moment…

An easy way to fix it, and to know/clarify, at a glance, that it’s fixed… probably give both local-time-zone info *and* cavern-time-zone info… every KI is equipped with a cavern-time set watch, afterall…

    Comment by Trunkuza — July 3, 2010 @ 12:49 am Cavern Time

  17. I have been to the different places now. No one seems to be right. Would be great if you could update the times!

Comment by Beyond The Mind — July 9, 2010 @ 3:28 pm Cavern Time

  18. I’m sitting in Payiferen right now. (I seem to only ever have free time AFTER your timers say that Negilahn has already opened…) and staring at the beams of light gave me an idea…

Why not have a few pictures alongside the map of the portal age? You know, showing how Payiferen looks when each other age’s portal pops up. That way, we all have something a little more to compare to than just a timer. . .

    Comment by Trunkuza — July 13, 2010 @ 12:18 pm Cavern Time

  19. I rather like the idea. :) Would you care to volunteer the photos? If you can get them to me in the next few days I can arrange it within the next week or so.

    Send to: isyldar@uruexploration.net

    Comment by Isyldar — July 15, 2010 @ 7:29 am Cavern Time

  20. Pushed the seed times forward one hour. I have no idea why this seems to get messed up when it crosses over DST changes, it just adds seconds to a date object. It’ll probably be wrong for anyone outside of the US now… The next time I’m in cavern for some portals, I’ll get new times and get photos.

    Comment by Nadnerb — July 15, 2010 @ 8:05 am Cavern Time

  21. I tried to use these times, but i forgot that DST just ended and so i bet this stuff isn’t correct.

Comment by MogwaII -[Slump Virus] — November 7, 2010 @ 8:20 pm Cavern Time

  22. These times haven’t been tested in a long time. I wouldn’t really trust that the MOUL clock hasn’t drifted either. If you want to use the times, I’d suggest checking at least an hour before the stated time in Payiferen to see if the sundial thingy matches the times. If you happen to catch a portal, you could also record the exact time you see it and post it here, if so, I’ll update the times.

    Comment by Nadnerb — November 12, 2010 @ 3:39 am Cavern Time

  23. On November 28th, I went for the Negilahn portal and it didn’t show. I then compared that time to another calculator and found these times to be one hour slow. By subtracting that hour, I confirmed and captured both portals in Dereno adn Payiferin. Hope that helps.

    Comment by Ozra — November 28, 2010 @ 8:19 am Cavern Time

  24. I tied using this schedule and determined that it is off by 1 hour for EST. I don’t know how it will be effected by the change to Eeatern time zone (DST). Just a comment, when I went to the pods an hour earlier than published here the Portal appeared as expected.

    Regards,

    Comment by Hefred — February 27, 2011 @ 1:09 pm Cavern Time

  25. It seems the script that we have running on this doesn’t alot for timezone differences. :) Nad was working on it a little while ago, but I don’t think he got very far. So, at the moment, our apologies for the odd inaccuracy.

    Comment by Isyldar — February 27, 2011 @ 1:13 pm Cavern Time

  26. The script SHOULD account for timezone differences by virtue of the Date object reading times from the page using the correct timezone (the timezone is part of the date format) and then displaying them in local time. I don’t know exactly what causes the hour differences, but I suspect this occurs when the last recorded portal time was in DST, and the current time is on ST, or vice versa.

Either way, I’m not sure how to fix the problem unless we give up on trusting the client’s clock entirely and generate times on the server.

    Comment by Nadnerb — February 28, 2011 @ 1:50 am Cavern Time

  27. Took me about a day to figure it out but the actual arrival times of the portals in each of the four locations is about an hour prior to the calculated times shown in the schedule above. Don’t know if it has anything to do with the return to Eastern Standard Time from Daylight Savings Time which occurred on November 6, 2011 but that would be my guess. From some of the other comments, it would appear this has been a an ongoing and perhaps insolvable problem. For anyone still trying to solve the portal arrival times, the schedule above will do the trick as long as you remember to show up an hour earlier than the published arrival times.

    Many thanks!

  31. I Just want you to know your clock is off in Denero pod I stayed up until 3:59 AM and I am really tired your clock now reads 15:32:15 and still nothing happened
I waited up just to get through the port hole What happened I’m not happy.

    Comment by cleanwisle — January 4, 2012 @ 6:00 am Cavern Time

  32. Sorry everyone,

But, due to one reason and another, (not the least of which is time), we just haven’t really got a solution for the times being off. From what Nadnerb has been able to discern, it has to do with JavaScript in your browser(s) and the clock in your own computers getting the portal times to show an hour difference one way or the other. Due to the complexity of the problem, we’re not likely going to be fixing this in the near future. (That having spare time thing).

If you’d like to volunteer to solve the issue, please contact myself, Isyldar, or Nadnerb at either of these email addresses:

    nadnerb@uruexploration.net

Thanks for your continued interest in the site, and all of your feedback! :)

  33. tested on June 13, 2012 at about 11 am AST. Payiferen came exactly on time (actually -6 sec) close enough. This is the more accurate site to use if trying to calibrate the Pod Clock. enjoy

  34. So far times are within a few seconds. By the way does anything happen after I have been through all four?

    Comment by rberry43 — October 12, 2012 @ 11:38 am Cavern Time

  35. One useful thing you haven’t mentioned on this page is the level each portal appears on. Since they appear for just under a minute, guessing the wrong level can lead to a scramble. If I’m remembering right, the appearances are as follows.

    Negilahn: Middle level
    Dereno: Lower level
    Payiferen: Lower level
    Tetsonot: Middle level

  36. It would be best to mention the time being off at the top of the porthole times. Then there really isn’t an issue. It would have saved me time for sure. Thank you SKYDIVER1

  37. These times are off.
I got Negilahn an hour and 30 minutes earlier than stated.

Payiferen is also off by a little more that two hours.

I am East Coast United States and the date this was check was: 8-13-2017
